MakoVision

Read the race,
not just the result

MakoVision is the swimming video analysis inside MakoSwim. Upload a race, tag the splits, and the starts, turns, breakouts and stroke rates land on the swimmer’s profile next to everything else you know about them.

MakoVision race analysis: a race video with tagged split markers on the timeline and the resulting split, stroke rate and stroke count breakdown beside it.

Five steps, and two of them are optional

01

Upload

Put the race in and set it up: swimmer, event, pool. Footage from the stands on a phone is enough. There is no extra camera rig and no video staff.

02

Tag

Mark the distance splits. Predicted positions put the playhead close to each one, so you are confirming a frame rather than hunting for it.

03

Count

Add stroke counts per segment when you want them. Optional, and skippable on a race where the splits are the whole story.

04

Measure

Take stroke rate at the points that matter to you, rather than accepting one number for the whole swim.

05

Review and save

Check the breakdown and save. It lands on the swimmer’s profile, next to their training and their times, not in a folder on your laptop.

Starts, turns, breakouts

The parts of a race that decide it, measured instead of estimated. Front-end against back-end speed, so you can see where a swim was won and where it drifted.

Fast enough to do on the day

Keyboard shortcuts drive the whole workflow. Q for the next action, 1 to 5 to switch mode, space to play and pause. You stay on the keys instead of hunting for buttons.

Stored, not scattered

Race and training footage lives in your team’s own video vault. Unlimited storage, private to your club, on any device.

The swimmer sees it too

Athletes can watch their own races and pull down the PDF report themselves, so the analysis reaches the person who has to act on it.

A MakoVision race report: split times, stroke rates, stroke counts, turn and breakout distances laid out as a printable one-page PDF.

Questions

Do I need special camera equipment?
No. Footage shot on a phone from the stands is enough to tag splits, count strokes and measure stroke rate.
Is the analysis automatic?
No, and deliberately so. Predicted positions get the playhead close to each split so tagging is quick, but you confirm every mark. Stroke count and stroke rate are optional passes you choose to run.
Where does the analysis end up?
On the swimmer’s profile, alongside their training and their competition times, and in your team’s video vault. It is not a standalone file.
Can athletes see their own races?
Yes. Athletes can watch their races and download their own PDF report.
